So, how does it work?

Step 1

What does a route look like on Sherpa-map?

A route starts with two simple clicks or taps, forming the start point, and end point, with the route generated in between

Step 2

How can I change the start point or endpoint?

Simply dragging the start or end point allows you to easily correct or enhance your existing route.

Step 3

How do I add more points along my route?

Continue clicking, generally marking out your desired path, each click will generate a new endpoint and leave the last endpoint as a blue, “Waypoint”, with arrows that indicate route direction.
Additionally, with simple a click and a drag or tap and drag out from your route line a “Waypoint” can be added, allowing for quick reroutes and easy manipulation.

Step 4

Can I delete these points?

A right-click on any waypoint will display a menu of options, including a “Delete Waypoint” option, removing said waypoint and rerouting accordingly.

Step 5

How do I reposition a waypoint?

Dragging a waypoint to your desired location rebuilds the route leading to said waypoint..

What is Sherpa-Map?

Sherpa-Map is a project of passion developed by 3 cyclists, aiming to be a fully featured cycling-specific route creation competitor to RideWithGPS, Komoot, Strava’s premium route builder, and the rest. Showcasing our custom cycling map, built to display the highest resolution terrain, cycling infrastructure, and road surface types at a glance, supported by a powerful routing engine capable of 28 routing profiles, from maximizing climbing to finding the flattest route, preferring paved, unpaved, and more.

With advanced weather data and modeling, AI tools to classify yet unknown surface types, ability to automatically generate looped routes, to the integration of an advanced physics engine designed to accurately estimate route duration, there are many reasons to start routing with us, only bolstered by using PJamm’s amazing climbs as a starting point.
